14th C English savory mushroom recipe.

Take funges and pare hem clene, and dyce hem; take leke and shrede hym small, and do hym to seeþ in gode broth. Colour it with safroun, and do þerinne powdour fort. – Forme of Cury

My Version

Baby portabella mushrooms and leek were cut into bite sized peices and put into a vegetable broth seasoned with saffron and powder forte (ginger, cinnamon, and grains of paradise).

It was brought to a boil and simmered for about 10 minutes. The mushrooms and leeks were removed from the broth for serving.
